A fire ravaged the Kehlsteinhaus in Berchtesgaden, a former Nazi-era guesthouse referred to as the Eagle's Nest. German authorities charged a suspect after the incident. The building, connected to Hitler's Obersalzberg, was severely damaged in the blaze. The arrest was made following reports of the fire, which damaged the historic retreat. The incident has raised concerns over the conservation of sites associated with the Nazi regime.
